Lens hoods of the DV series are specifically designed for the permanent use on digital video cameras.
The rectangular design matches the typical picture formats and shooting angles of digital cameras. DV Type lens hoods can be used on virtually all lenses, if their shooting angle is not wider than the shooting angle of a wide-angle lens with 20mm focal length in a 35mm camera.
The robust design protects the exposed sensitive lenses of video cameras from damaging impact. For additional protection while the video camera is not in use, all DV series lens hoods come with an additional cap to be put on front of the hood.
Like all lens hoods, the hoods of the DV series effectively reduce flare and veiling glare. They enable to shoot 'contre-jour' or towards the light source (f.i. in bright sunlight) without excessive flare, as long as the light source is kept outside the image area.
The DV series hoods are available with bayonet and screw mounting. They are furnishable in silver and black to suit cameras and lenses in different colours.
